Radon is a very dangerous substance that lurks unseen within many homes. As a colorless and odorless gas, it can wreak havoc without any visible signs of its intrusion. Radon is the leading cause of cancer for non-smokers, and as such it’s important to educate yourself on the risks of radon buildup. Thankfully, awareness is spreading through various media sources, keeping the public informed about the dangers of radon.
The Radon Reader is a newsletter sent out through National Radon Defense, the leading radon mitigation network, concerning new activity in the industry and potential concerns. The EPA is now re-evaluating all of Colorado, as the entire state is now considered at high risk for radon exposure. After review, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment recently found that twelve counties needed to be updated to high risk from their previously moderate rating.
This label means that every county in Colorado is at high risk of radon exposure, and it’s highly recommended for homeowners to get appropriate testing. That’s where Green Star Services comes in- we have the skills and experience needed to accurately diagnose a home’s radon levels. We can create a custom system to effectively mitigate and radon issues that your home might suffer from.
